Yoga Grove
in Coconut Grove
3100 South Dixie Hwy. Suite 401
Yoga Grove:
The studio known as
the Yoga Grove has gone through many changes, and is now
under new & improved management! It's located on the top
floor of the Academy Building, on the corner of 31st Street
and S Dixie Hwy (US1) in Coconut Grove. The atmosphere is
bright and friendly, and it gets hot in there, so you might
want to bring a towel...
Classes:
I teach four times a week, three Funyasa (Mon & Wed at 6p
and Sat at 10a) And I teach a Yoga Nidra Class on Thurs at
7.45p.
Parking:
Please be mindful of the tow
away zones this area at all times. On weekdays, parking is
available only on the street, but in the evenings and on the
weekends, it's OK to park in the Academy Building's lot if
necessary.

The Yoga Room in South Beach
841 Lincoln Rd. (at Brownes & Co., 2nd floor)

The Yoga Room:
A beautiful studio, the only one on Lincoln Road. You'll
find it accross from the Van Dyke, at Jefferson Avenue. On
the way to the studio, you get to go through Brownes & Co.,
a provocative cosmetics and beauty-supply boutique.
Upstairs, past the full-service salon, you'll find the Yoga
Room. The studio is big and bright, with plenty of windows
and wall space for practicing all your favorite balancing
poses.
Classes:
I teach Funyasa Yoga once a week here, on Mondays from
10-11.30a. This class is especially fun because the
students often include dancers from the Miami City Ballet,
and entertainers from cruise ships docked at the port of
Miami.
Parking:
Automated street parking is available, depending on the hour
and barring any local events, festivals or protests. If all
else fails, there is a parking lot on Jefferson (near Alton
Rd).

The Miami Life Center in South
Beach
736 6th St. (at Meridian)

The Miami Life Center:
This is an authentic space in the heart of South Beach,
founded and run by people who are passionate about yoga,
health and harmonious living. The MLC is located in a cool
complex which includes Uhma Spa, and a great little Vitamin
shop. You can do yoga, get a massage and have a healthy
snack all on the same block. In addition to the many
Ashtanga-related classes, they have interesting workshops
planned every month from now into the distant future.
Recently, they've added new classes to the schedule,
including Beginners' Courses, Teen Yoga, Jivamukti,
Restorative, Pre-Natal and more...
Classes:
I teach Gentle Yoga on Tuesdays from 8-9.15p In this
class, we often don't stand at all, a refreshing change for
many. This class is perfect for beginners, seniors and
people nursing injuries. But because it's so mellow, and
this style is so good for aleviating stress, it's also
recommended for active people and for yogis who deserve a
break from the routine of a physically demanding practice.
Parking:
Street parking is surprisingly ample, but not automated, so
believe it or not, you have to have an old-fashioned stash
of coins to feed the meters, or good luck.
